2017 Harewood Estate Denmark Pinot Noir

12 bottles

In stock.

The Harewood Estate Denmark Pinot Noir has been produced from fruit grown in the maritime subregion of Denmark in the Great Southern of Western Australia.

The wine shows a light crimson with hints of purple. A lifted nose of red cherry and strawberry is complemented by earthier, mushroom characters and spicy French oak. Vibrant flavours of raspberry and ripe strawberries are balanced by more complex notes of spice and truffle with a creamy mid palate. The wine finishes with hints of mocha and redcurrant acidity supported by gentle tannins and toasty French oak.

92 points - Halliday Wine Companion (James Halliday)

From Harewood's two vineyards in Denmark. The light colour is no surprise, but then neither is the fragrant cherry/plum blossom bouquet. The light-bodied palate is in the mainstream of James Kellie's elegant style for all his wines, a consistency to be applauded. A wine that will offer most over the next 5+ years, but not disintegrate thereafter.

91 points - Wine Front

Light in colour but there’s plenty going on. It’s a meaty, spicy pinot. Cherries are the backdrop, or the conduit, with woody spices flying hither and thither. Tangy finish, complete with mint and anise notes. It’s a most enjoyable wine to drink, it has to be said.
