Nose: Presents aromas of fresh and delicate red berries
Palate: The mouth shows typical Volnay elegance and the tannic minerality brings length and freshness.On top of the hill in Volnay, above Clos de Chene. Lots of limestone in the soil: white stones. Floral, lively nose with nervy red cherry fruit. Supple and elegant on the palate with fresh red cherries and plums, as well as some nice structure and good acidity. Has a brightness and good tannin, but also a lightness from the low extraction approach. Potential for development.
92 pts - Huon Hooke (The Real Review)Good depth of colour and hue, the bouquet very savoury and undergrowth-laden, not fragrant or pretty at all, but more brooding. Earthy notes and hints of ferrous/ironstone minerality. The wine is again very savoury and dry on the palate, woodsy and dry-red-ish, not pinoty or fruity in the New World sense, but more serious, suggesting more fireworks if it's cellared a while but not offering a lot of charm at this stage. Plentiful soft but dry tannins complete the picture. Certainly a good wine and well made.
