2018 Mt Bera ‘Wild and Free’ Pinot Noir

In stock.

Dark berries and aromatic five spice dominate the nose
denoting a generous vintage for the variety. The palate is structured and
complex displaying red fruits and warm spice. Drinking well now but has good
potential for aging.

Take a walk on the wild side with this single vineyard pinot noir from high up in the Adelaide Hills, wild and free thanks to its ferment with all natural yeasts. The first thing that stands out is delicious complexity – it’s got the whole range of classic pinot aromas from cherry compote and raspberry through to earth with balanced oak sitting pretty in the back seat. It does get a bit more wild and free on the palate, with sappy, herbal fruits and more earthiness and old tobacco flavours before a lingering finish. It’s a food wine for sure well suited to gamey dishes.
