Supple and chewy, this bursts with ripe red berries and lush spice that speaks of juniper berries, Bengal pepper and star anise. Very pretty, lithe, syrah-styled shiraz. A lot going on, a lot to like.
92 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)This West Aussie Shiraz from Pemberton has a 5% dollop of Malbec included. The wine spent sixteen months in French oak barriques, 30% of which were new. The colour is a deep magenta, while the nose gives an array of aromas including chocolate, licorice, dry herbs, plums, bay leaves, earthy notes, truffles and coffee grinds. There is some gentle vanillin oak evident, but it is well balanced. The wine is poised and taut, focused and balanced, and with a lingering finish. This will provide drinking pleasure for the next six to eight years.
