Supple and chewy, this bursts with ripe red berries and lush spice that speaks of juniper berries, Bengal pepper and star anise. Very pretty, lithe, syrah-styled shiraz. A lot going on, a lot to like.
93 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)It’s a big red from an area that tends to make elegant wines. 16 months in French oak barrels, 30% new yet the oak is so well integrated that it doesn’t intrude. A small amount of Malbec adds interest to a red that offers complex flavours ranging from licorice and warm earth to leather and chocolate. Good drinking now but has more in the tank.
