Very deep vermilion with traces of purple in the rim, and a bouquet that seems strong on oak with licorice, tar and dark berry fruits behind it. A lift of alcohol (or VA?), the palate massively powerful and hefty with masses of tannin and a hint of fuminess amid the chewy, muscular structure and big flavour. Quite a spirity aftertaste. A blockbuster, and quite well done. (50% made in amphora, 50% in 400 litre barrels)
