Deep, dark, opaque and very youthful in the glass. Aromas are all in the dark zone: plums, berries, chocolate, with a touch of Christmas pudding spice thrown in for good measure, plus a little touch of graphite lift. It has a powerful palate—sthere's a punch of dark, plum and mulberry fruit, there's also a good lick of oak at play and there's a real richness and density of flavour. The flavours are full throttle, but there is structure and an inherent balance to the wine. The archetypal 'iron fist in the velvet glove'.95 pts - Mike Bennie (Wine Business Mag)
Eisenstone seem to have a knack for producing big, bold reds with impeccable balance, satiny texture, great length and strong regional character. This has a bit of game meat and lavender in the mix of dark fruit and sweet spice characters, a touch of papper and layers of fancy woody character lending charm. Excellent wine.
