92 pts - Angus Hughson (Wine Pilot)Yes there is a grape called Inzolia. It is super popular in Sicily and has long been used for the local fortified Marsala. But as fortified wines have gone the way of the Dodo, winemakers around the world have been breaking the established rules and making some fascinating wines like this. This is a dry white wine with some serious personality. It is pale golden and immediately attractive with its aromatic honeysuckle, peach skin and citrus fruits with a touch of peppery spice. It is then dry and delicious with ripe, generous fruits and a tart acid backbone bought together with some chewy grip. It is a great leap into the white wines from Southern Italy and the best vintage of this wine in years.
92 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)Made from one of Italy’s many grape varieties, this white is rich and round and full of flavour – ripe apples and pears and gentle spices. A welcome change from our usual varieties, this would really challenge people at a blind tasting. 92 points. BUY.
