Color: Pale golden straw.
Nose: Tropical fruit and citrus freshness.
Palate: Crisp, fruit driven. Harvested from mature vines in the Hunter Valley, the absence of oak showcases the flavours of the varietal. A blend of fruit from the winery’s cooler and warmer vineyards captures a balance of acid and fuller tropical flavours.
VITICULTURE : The grapes for this wine are sourced from two vineyards in the Broke-Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley. We harvest one vineyard at lower sugar levels to give the final blend a good acid structure and the other vineyard is harvested at a higher sugar level to get the fuller tropical flavours that make this wine so delicious.
WINEMAKING NOTES : Only the free-run portion of the fruit is used to produce this wine to maximise the intensity of the flavours and minimise the tannins. The juice is then fermented at 13oC in stainless steel ensuring a steady fermentation period. The wine is held on yeast lees for 3 months to add flavour complexity and a creamy texture to the palate.
TASTING NOTES : Our Verdelho is loaded with tropical fruit flavours and a long citrus finish. Harvested from mature vines in the Hunter Valley, this wine was made without the use of oak to showcase the true flavours of the vineyard. The fuller flavours and great texture of Verdelho make it a great choice with a wide variety of dishes or simply by itself.
