Paisley Wine’s ‘Fabric’ label is known for its vibrant label designs with the paisley pattern and sets out to offer bold styles. Paisley Wines is named after the Scottish town near Glasgow with a history of beautiful textile weaving and the home of co-founder Kirsten’s great-great grandfather. The town became famous in the 1800s for making womens shawls in the boteh pattern, which is the pattern we know now as paisley. The name pays homage to family, history and beauty itself.

Color: The colour is deep red.

Nose: The aromas are lifted and bright with plums, blackberry and hints of sweet spice.

Palate: The medium to full bodied palate has bright and inviting blackberry and blueberry fruit, there are some sweet licks of nutmeg and clove, with a touch of tastiness as well. The palate is elegant and the sweet fruit is supplemented by very fine grained tannins. With ample flavour, poise and balance, the wine finishes with great length.

The power of suggestion. Is the wine as silky as it seems or does the name nudge thoughts down that path? No matter. A terrific, and terrific value, Barossa Shiraz. The fruit comes from a single vineyard in the renowned Ebenezer sub-region. The fruit is vinified in discrete parcels to allow for a range of winemaking techniques. Pre-fermentation maceration, a mix of new and older French oak, the inclusion of some whole bunches, fermentation by way of indigenous yeasts, after which the wine is blended and spends two years maturing. An inky opaque purple. This is immediately opulent. No mistaking its origins or the variety. A bold, ripe, rich Barossa Shiraz, which will surely prove very popular. Notes of coffee beans, mocha, chocolate, dry herbs, cassis and a touch of vanilla with good oak integration. Very good length, there are abundant tannins too, but they are gorgeously cushiony. Drink now for the next 6 to 8 years.
