Maintaining the theme of strange names, this Boombox Shiraz is sourced from the team’s Barossa vineyards. Vibrant purple in colour, the wine offers lifted aromatics. Blackberries, cassis, chocolate and bay leaves. Ripe and chocolatey with a lovely silky, soft palate, impressive length, excellent balance and a great future. The palate reveals some plummy notes on the finish to go with the chocolate. Delicious. Just what one wants in a Barossa Shiraz and to be honest, it puts a lot of releases, at two or three times the price, to shame.
93 pts - Sam Kim (Wine Orbit)This is instantly appealing on the nose, showing dark plum, blueberry, floral, olive and roasted nut aromas, leading to a splendidly flavoursome palate offering plump mouthfeel combined with silky texture and fine-grained tannins, finishing long and satisfying.
