Absolutely delicious red from the Primitivo grape, also known as Zinfandel, from the Puglia region in Italy. Gleaming dark red/crimson in colour, the nose exhibits notes of aniseed, plums, blackberries and florals, with a touch of red jellybean evident. A supple and seductive texture with fine tannins, the wine has impressive length and the intensity is maintained for the full journey. Delicious drinking and should remain so for the next six to eight years.
Rick Allen (Newcastle Herald)This is from the Puglia region of south-east Italy- the 'heel' of the boot- and it's downright moreish. Also known as zinfandel, it has a nose of appealing foresty florals, is supple and juicy with blueberry, plums and red cherry- loads of mid-palate richness. It's good to go, but it will hold together for another eight years or so. Impressive.
