Silver - Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2025
94 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)Grillo is a Sicilian variety traditionally used for making Marsala wines; these days most of it goes into still whites like this one. It takes you out of your comfort zone, away from your usual reference points. It’s fresh and crisp, with notes of flowers and mangos, it’s rich and nutty with good depth of flavour. Lovely wine. 94 points Recently Max Allen included the Grillo in his Top 20 Drinks of the Year at the Financial Review, and called it one of the best value wines he’s tried all year.
92 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)A grape which is yet to gain a foothold in Australia, wines like this would suggest that it would be no surprise to see some significant interest in it in the near future. From Sicily, this is cracking value. Gleaming gold in colour, the nose offers exuberant aromatics with notes of orange rinds, nectarines, lemon curd, stone fruits, ripe peaches and apricots. Seamless in structure, there is a creamy texture, impressive balance and very good length. This is perhaps the best example of this grape I have seen from these guys. Delicious. Enjoy it over the next three to four years.

Delicious fruit driven white wine with a gorgeous saline mouthfeel. Tastes just how I imagine Sicily would taste!! Highly recommended.

Great wine at a great price

This is an outstanding example of Sicilian winemaking at its best. I find it best served lightly chilled and sipped slowly to allow the complexities of the Grillo grape to unfold. With each lift of the glass, new aromas emerge, and the taste profile is long and lingering.
