Harmonious and rich, with good freshness and smoothness, soft balanced tannins and a rounded and full finish.Negroamaro is proving to be a variety ideal for those looking for wines chock full of flavour without getting too excited about which side of the hill the vines may have been growing. Put bluntly, this is an absolutely ideal variety for your next gourmet barbeque or the Friday night footy. Under Diam. The colour here is a deep maroon/bruised plum. On the nose, we have notes of black cherries, smoked meats, leather, dried herbs, mushrooms, bay leaves, plums and aniseed. The structure is seamless, through to the fine satiny tannins and the wine has good length. Oodles of chocolate notes emerge towards the finish. So much to like here. Enjoy this over the next eight to ten years.
Rick Allen (Newcastle Herald)From the 'heel' on the southern tip of Italy comes this full-flavoured, generous red. The nose is appealing, florals, cherries, mushrooms and bay leaves. On the tongue the first flavour is chocolate, lots of it, then cherry which evokes memories of cherry ripe. There's a spiciness in play too. Rich, round, but at the same time silky and smooth. A barbecue special.
