Introducing Windowrie’s first alcohol free sparkling wine! Unlike many alcohol-free wines, Windowrie Sakura No-Alc Ruby Sparkling is not de-alcoholised. Instead, it’s crafted using the traditional piquette method.

The process begins by gently steeping grape marc and pomace (the leftover grape skins and pulp after pressing) in water, creating a liquid with a naturally low sugar content, then fermented.

To create its signature ruby style, the piquette is experly blended with natural cherry and berry concentrates before being lightly carbonated. The result is a refreshing sparkling drink with vibrant fruit flavours and a beautifully balanced palate, offering just the right harmony of sweetness and acidity.

‘Sakura,’ the festival of cherry blossoms, is held in Cowra every year, celebrating the profound ties between their community and Japan – a connection rooted in history with its origins in the Prisoner of War Camp that housed Japanese P.O.W’s during WWII.

The Sakura label pays homage to this relationship and the iconic Japanese cherry blossom trees, which symbolise the delicate dance between life and death, impermanence and hope.

Just as the arrival of spring promises renewal and vitality, the blooming cherry blossoms serve as a poignant reminder of life’s fleeting nature, encouraging us to savour every moment. Carefully crafted from fruit grown in the Windowrie Homestead blocks, the Sakura range is the ideal companion to life’s celebratory moments.

Color: A vibrant, ruby hue with lively, persistent bubbles. 

Nose: Lifted aromas of ripe cherries, wild berries and raspberry coulis are complemented by subtle floral notes, creating a fresh and fragrant bouquet.

Palate: Bright and refreshing, with generous flavours of juicy red berries, dark cherry and a hint of cranberry. Fine carbonation brings freshness and vibrancy, while a balanced sweetness and crisp acidity deliver a clean, moreish finish.

Pairings: Enjoy chilled as an aperitif or pair with charcuterie, soft cheeses, fresh berries, dark chocolate desserts, fruit tarts, duck, glazed ham. Serve by itself for an alcohol-free option, or use to create a berry and bubbly cocktail!
