Another tour de force here, this time from New Zealand’s Wairau Valley. The aromas hit the nose and keep going straight to the pleasure centre in the brain that floods my sense with dopamine, the feel-good hormone. The sheer intensity is something to behold here, surrounded by the usual cast of characters – marmalade, apricot jam, honey, ginger, caramel and toffee. Unctuous Opulence. Too much of a good thing? There’s enough crisp acid on the finish to keep the house in order.
95 pts - Stuart Knox (The Real Review)Deep golden hue. Rich and heady aromas of dried fig, mango, hot toffee and marmalade notes. Big and rich, unctuous on the palate with deep and sweet mango and marmalade notes. Flows incredibly long and whilst all that richness could overrun it, there’s a fine and bright line of acid that ensures it both drives and cleans up the finish.
