2022 Maison Jean Loron Pouilly Fuisse BIO ‘La Coronille’
New Vintage!
A pale golden dress with green highlights. Intense and complex nose. The aromas of grapefruit and apple that emerge first are complemented by an elegant spicy touch of cinnamon, on a background of toast. The mouth is of a beautiful balance, with a dense material awakened by a saline vivacity. The aromas are expressive, and especially persistent in a fresh and sharp finish.
90 pts – Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot): From Chardonnay vineyards, found at quite an elevated altitude, grown on the stony hillsides in the south of France, this is a pleasing variation on the theme. The colour here is a deep yellow. The wine is fresh youthful and quite an easy drinking style. There are notes of fresh herbs, florals and citrus, a touch of apricot and other stone fruits. An easy drinking wine of medium length for enjoying over the next three to four years.
93 pts – Kim Brebach (BWU20): From the south of France, and not even a year old. That said, it’s on the bigger side for a Pinot, not exactly Burgundian but medium-bodied and full of flavour.
