Winemaking : Matured in third and fourth use French oak for 9 months.
Appearance : Deep garnet red. Aromas of intense blackcurrant, hints of redcurrant, tobacco, cedary spice and subtle leafiness.
Palate : Silky and rounded, with rich blackcurrant, dark juicy fruit, rhubarb. Flavours of tobacco and cedar contribute to the wine’s satisfying depth, and fine tannins give it elegant structure and mouth feel. Attractive medium finish with lingering classics flavours.
Food : Classic roast lamb, shepherds pie, Middle Eastern cuisine. Cellaring Drink to 2024.
Vintage : A cool growing season (after years of drought) meant the 2021 vintage was a chance for the vines to express vibrant fruits. Cabernet was a standout, with excellent colour, concentration and tannins.
