Mt Bera’s 157ha of lush hills and valleys have evolved from a 1851 commercial orchard to the biodynamically grown vineyards of today. The 1990s marked the beginning of how the Horner family’s passion shaped Mt Bera’s identity, producing wines of elegance, purity and a true expression of its source.
Treating the entire entity as an organism from below the ground, the soil, the rocks, the microbiota; through to the above ground including: crops, climate animals, culture, and indeed the people who work in collaboration with all influences, leading to the primary produce expressing the full cycle, with traceability back to its site and all natural influences that have create it.
Color: Deep ruby red.
Nose: Raspberry and dried thyme with tomato leaf and red lollie frogs.
Palate: Firmly in the red fruit spectrum with generosity up front. Not overtly present tannins that keep the feeling nimble on the palate and a long, smooth finish with nice tannin, fruit, and acid interplay.
