Palate: Chianti is seeing something of a revival in popularity around the world and the 2024 vintage will do nothing to hurt that. Nor will wines that provide such good value as this. Ruby red in colour, this is a savoury style with notes of mushrooms, animal flesh, leaf litter, charcuterie and warm earth. There are hints similar to the spice and sweetness one encounters with a freshly opened tin of beetroot. A midweight style with bright acidity and juicy flavours, it is of medium length and should drink well for the next four to five years
90 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)The guys at Nicks have been very generous here IMHO. Yes it’s a young Chianti that’s soft and approachable, and the price is modest enough, but it lacks depth of flavour and the fine line of acidity that characterizes Chiantis. A Chianti for bistros.
