Palate: This is splendidly expressed on the nose, showing dark plum, roasted nut, thyme, clove, and rich floral aromas. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, wonderfully supported by velvety texture, fine acidity, and polished tannins. Flavoursome and delectable with a sustained plush finish. 90 pts - Mike Bennie (The Winefront)Velvet by name, velvet by texture. From 90-year-old vines. Rough silk and grainy suede texture, a plushness to it all, a length of grip and spicy pucker. It’s got a sooty spice character settling in warm, wild raspberry, stewed plum and liquorice fruit characters. The perfume a lot of old spice cupboard then the fruitiness; the other way around to taste, but that woody spice is quite a distinct thing, so too a touch of heat. It should set up a good time for those seeking old school, bolder grenache. An elementary example for simple pleasure.
