In 1885, GioBatta Poli moved with his family to Schiavon and opened the tavern ‘Osteria Al Cappello,’ knowing that a new railway was in project. A few years later the long awaited little steam train ‘Vaca Mora’ arrived.
The passengers used to wait for the Vaca Mora train at the tavern, sipping that bitter liqueur made by GioBatta by infusing herbs, fruit peels and roots. Sometimes the train driver would come in for one as well!
Nose: Its aroma recalls a wooden box full of officinal herbs and mint leaves.
Palate: Starts with a sweet, silky entry followed by complex layers of earthy roots, bitter orange peel, dark chocolate, and warming spices. It has balanced bittersweetness with a subtle cooling effect.
