Overall, Australia once again saw another extremely outstanding year at the Decanter World Wine Awards. In its 19th year, the Decanter World Wine Awards are one of the most influential and prestigious awards in the world. The judging process is rigorous with 18,244 wines from 54 countries judged from 250 experts including 41 Masters of Wine and 13 Master Sommeliers.
Australia was the top performer for New World wines receiving a total of 744 medals across all categories. South Australia, always a strong performer, saw the Barossa win 10 Gold medals.
Impressively, five of those were received by single vineyard producer Eisenstone Wines.
