2019 Nuiton-Beaunoy ‘Pommard’ Rouge

96 pts – Huon Hooke (The Real Review): Medium-deep red-purple colour; aromas of dried herbs, dry grass and dried mushrooms overlying dark cherries; the wine is quite full in the mouth with abundant flavour and backed by firm tannins. It’s a touch grippy on its own but would work much better with appropriate food. There’s a lovely deep core of sweet ripe dark cherry fruit. A solid Burgundy with ageing potential.

2016 Nuiton Beaunoy Morey St Denis 1er Cru ‘La Riotte’

96 pts – Huon Hooke (The Real Review: Medium-deep red-purple colour, remarkably youthful for its age. Aromas of pipe tobacco, dried herbs and sousbois; complex and highly detailed in a savoury, earth-bound way. Liberal oak has been employed. Full bodied and rich, fleshy and sumptuous with depth and breadth and abundant savoury/developing undergrowth/earth and dried herb flavours, backed by ample fine and drying tannins.

2019 Nuiton-Beaunoy ‘Volnay’ Rouge

95 pts – Huon Hooke (The Real Review): Medium-full red-purple colour; bright, fresh aromas of dry-grass, dried herbs, strawberries and dark red cherries. The flavour is quite delicious: intense and full bodied dark cherry fruit coupled with firm and abundant tannins supplying excellent structure for age worthiness. Drinks superbly now with food and will reward substantial aging.
