Medium-deep red-purple colour; aromas of dried herbs, dry grass and dried mushrooms overlying dark cherries; the wine is quite full in the mouth with abundant flavour and backed by firm tannins. It's a touch grippy on its own but would work much better with appropriate food. There's a lovely deep core of sweet ripe dark cherry fruit. A solid Burgundy with ageing potential.
96 pts - Patrick Eckel (Wine Reviewer)A medium red in colour, a nose of black cherry, kirsh that is backed by savoury spice and fresh earth. The palate is supple and expansive with purity of black cherry; tannins are quite remarkable with a cherry pip savouriness that gives wonderful structure and contrast to the plush primary fruits. The length to finish is significant with a gentle build of oak derived spice a nice embellishment. Approachable now but with a long future ahead.
