This range of wine is named for Celtic mythological characters of old. Maeve is a fierce goddess associated with sovereignty and the anointing of Celtic kings.The name Maeve means ‘she who intoxicates.’
This is a blend about 50% Shiraz and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Barossa Valley. The Shiraz vineyard is an 80+ year old vineyard near Lyndoch and the Cabernet from the cooler slopes of the Barossa Ranges near Angaston.
Color: Deep crimson red.
Nose: Lifted black fruits, berries, and vanilla oak.
Palate: With low bunch numbers and small berries, the resulting wine has immense richness, concentration and depth of flavour.
Pairings: Winemakers Derek and Kristen suggest trying th Maeve Shiraz Cabernet with slow cooked lamb shanks with red wine sauce.
