Made by Kellerei Salurn in Südtirol as it was known before Austria lost it to Italy after the last big war. Now it’s known as Alto Adige. The wine is more subdued than many of our PGs and the acid is finer and fresher. The flavours are much the same, with ripe pears at the centre and ginger in the background.
91 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)From the Alto Adige region in northern Italy, the wine is bottled under Diam. Straw in colour, there are attractive fresh aromatics here, with notes of apples, florals, citrus and pears. At this early stage, it is still rather reticent, but it is a wine of medium length and seamless in style. There is a fine line of acidity running the journey. For enjoying over the next two to four years.
