In addition to the well known Savvy Sem blend, this wine has a dollop of Riesling – as one might expect from the Great Southern region (play to your strengths?), and this helps to lift the wine to the next level. The colour is lemon/green and the nose weaves through a range of flavours including exotic spices, florals, pink grapefruit, honeysuckle and lemon sponge cake. This is a seamless style with excellent length, but it is the creamy texture which is the real highlight. A wine of laser-like focus and energy. Enjoy this over the next six to eight years.
90 pts - Mike Bennie (Halliday Wine Companion)This has some of those distinct grassy, peppery and mezcal qualities and a general greengage herbaceous character that seems quintessential in the blend of semillon and sauvignon blanc. There's a pop of passionfruit and faint tropical fruitiness in the mix, but the mainstay is greenery, and in that, a high-toned refreshment factor alongside some pretty scintillating acidity. It's frisky, dry and vibrant, all up.
