Since the 17th century, 8 generations of the Roger family have been producing wines in the Bue area of Sancerre and in 1950, Dominique’s father founded Domaine du Carrou. Today, Domaine du Carrou is consistently ranked as one of the top producers in all of Sancerre.
Dominique is as passionate about the vineyards as he is about the wines they produce, living by his motto “there is no great wine without excellent grapes.”
In the vineyards Dominique chooses to work the soils constantly, allowing the roots to extend into the limestone mother rock. Herbicides and pesticides are never used and the grapes are only hand harvested – a practice that is becoming increasingly rare in Sancerre. This high altitude growth of Sauvignon Blanc boasts all three of the region’s famed soil types: terres blanches, caillotes, and an enviable percentage of silex.

Cherry, morello cherries, and raspberry on the nose. Lots of red fruits on the palate with a spicy finish. Delicious wine supported by beautiful harmonious tannins.
2021 Dominique Roger ‘Chene Marchand’ Sancerre AOP Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc)
Citrine yellow with a nose that has delicate nectarine, white peach and pink grapefruit. The palate has mouthwatering white peach and nectarine flavours intertwined with walnut and pistachio characters and touches of minerality weaving its way through.
2020 Dominique Roger ‘Domaine du Carrou’ Sancerre ‘La Jouline’
A perfect balance of vivacity, richness and complexity characterizes this sauvignon, from a great terroir. A subtle vanilla accent is achieved by the introduction of just the right amount of oak. La Jouline is excellent on its own as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to scallops of firm fleshed fish such as turbot and sea bass. With white meats in rich sauces it will really shine and even hold its own with foie gras.
