93 pts – Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot): From the Puglia region of Italy and under Diam, this is a powerfully structured, and flavoured, style of white. Some phenolics but there is real intensity and it would be an ideal match for a rich fish dish or something like grilled chicken smothered in onions and mushrooms. Deep straw in colour, there are notes of stone fruits, crushed herbs, figs, florals, peach pits and apricot skins. With the added touch of almond lurking on its lingering finish. A wine with a heap of flavour to it, and one which has been carefully crafted. Lots to like here, especially if you enjoy whites which are not shrinking wallflowers.
