The colour is light as usual, but this time there’s more body and flavour. Denmark’s cool climate rivals that of Burgundy I suspect. There are cherries and red berries but also some earth and undergrowth characters. Getting there.
92 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)The fruit here is sourced from a couple of vineyards, selected blocks, from the Denmark sub-region. The Harewood vineyard was planted in 1988, while the Apricus Vineyard, at a higher altitude, was planted in 1995. A pale crimson hue, all very Pinot, this is a sappy, savoury style. We have red fruits, briary notes, cigar box touches, rose petals and undergrowth. With supple textures and ultra-fine acidity, this is a wine of medium length and soft tannins which is quite delicious now and will offer very good drinking over the next three to four years, more if required.
