Pemberton Pinot Noir, which spent ten months maturing in French oak barriques, 20% of them new. Pale crimson in colour, there are beguiling aromas of strawberries, cherries, delicatessen meats, undergrowth notes, dry herbs and sizzling bacon fat. The oak is well integrated. A savoury style with meaty hints, good energy and bright acidity. Enjoy now and over the next four years.
90+ pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)My first impression was of a decent Pinot, with good colour, a Burgundian nose with mushroom and forest floor notes, good depth on the palate, some toasty oak coming into play, good flavour and some grunt. length. Nex t day the grunt had turned ito a hard line, which detracts form its charms. Will improve for a year or 2.
