Tre Bicchueri - Gambero Rosso94 pts - Luca Maroni94 pts - Huon Hooke (The Real Review)
Deep brick-red to ruby colour; the bouquet is developed and mellow and shows smoked meats, earthy/forest-floor, dried-herb and dried-fruit aromas, at a far remove from primary fruit. Glimpses of licorice and raisin. The wine is rich and full in the mouth, quite concentrated, with a subtle core of fruit-sweetness and lovely savoury tannins that are assertive but supple and ripe, smooth and rounded. Long finish, and balanced within the mellow/dry/savoury style paradigm.
