A non vintage blend of 40% Primitivo, 30% Sangiovese, 15% Montepulciano, 15% Nero d’Avola; the nose unravels fruity aromas of forest fruit and dried plums together with black pepper and coffee. Round, warm and full body supported by velvety tannins, bringing together different layers of flavours.
95 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)It’s rare we find a non-vintage wine in this price range, but it’s a beauty. The seduction starts with a nose that fairly leaps out of the glass, almost jammy but with enough restraint. The red beries and cherries are sweet, rich and juicy on the palate, and again held in check by the fine line of fresh acid, and made more interesting by the infusion of dried herbs. This is an opulent, totally seductive red. 96 points. BUY. Don’t you love the boot of Italy on the stellar label? And the story that goes with it? ‘Astrale is a Latin term indicating the celestial sphere, which is a reflection of the borderless approach of the wine. In its name, is etched the immensity of the firmament and the intimate bond that unites us to our past. Under the sign of the constellations, humanity has forged its destiny.’
