This co-op in Trentino in the north of Italy is 120 years old. I’ve always liked this Gris for its Alpine-fresh style, but the 2023 has more of everything: energy and zest, mouth-filling flavour, depth and length. It’s a gorgeous wine at a sharp price - back up the ute.
90 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)The team behind this northern Italian Pinot Grigio use the pergola method for trellising their vines, something rarely seen down under. This makes it easier to hand harvest. This is quite a simple style, but thoroughly enjoyable drinking and really good value. This is from the leaner end of the spectrum with notes of florals and pears – quite spicy pears – and a hint of lemongrass. A wine of medium length with vibrant acidity and a clean, crisp finish which is an easy drinking style which is attractive now and will continue to provide pleasure over the next three years.
