Organic Sauvignon Blanc from the Central Ranges, the colour here is a very pale lemon with green flecks. A moderate nose, we have notes of florals, limes, dried herbs, nettles, citrus and spices, and there is a good minerally backing. Fresh and soft, it is a middle of the road style of Savvy which will suit most. Fresh acidity lifts the wine and it will provide easy drinking over the next two years.
90 pts - Kim Brebach (BWU20)‘Sakura is the festival of cherry blossoms held in Cowra every year to celebrate the strong ties between this community and the Japanese P.O.Ws during WWII Japan, who broke out the of camp that was built near Cowra. I was really looking forward to tasting these wines with their lovely labels but the savvy is pretty ho-hum, a gentle herbaceous wine that’s easy on the gums but lacks conviction. I expected more flavour with a good line of acid and some minerals in the mix. It is made from organically grown grapes and is vegan-friendly but the price makes no sense either unless you plan to get the label blown up and framed.
