Sweet cherries and strawberry. Youthful with punchy fruit, coupled with ripe tannins, long with lovely grip on the finish
93 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)The name gives respect to senior members of the local Mãori. From Central Otago, the colour here is a red crimson. Big and bold in style, the nose offers notes of spices, licorice, black cherries, milk chocolate, a flick of florals and citrus with warm earth. A supple texture, exemplary balance, fine acidity, sleek tannins, good grip and a persistent finish – everything is in place here for this to drink well to at least the end of the decade.
