Sweet cherries and strawberry. Youthful with punchy fruit, coupled with ripe tannins, long with lovely grip on the finish

The name gives respect to senior members of the local Mãori. From Central Otago, the colour here is a red crimson. Big and bold in style, the nose offers notes of spices, licorice, black cherries, milk chocolate, a flick of florals and citrus with warm earth. A supple texture, exemplary balance, fine acidity, sleek tannins, good grip and a persistent finish – everything is in place here for this to drink well to at least the end of the decade.
