Very good depth of colour, with a purple tint in the rim; the bouquet is smoky/charry and oak tinged, the palate full-bodied and sweet fruited, ripe and generous, with an imposing sheen of drying tannins adding structure. A big, ripe, slightly amorphous wine with stacks of flavour and ageing potential. Classic Pommard! (100ml sample bottle tasted).
