A swishy, silky, lithe pinot noir with perky, red berry fruitiness, a good dose of cinnamon and nutmeg spice, some fine, herbal lift and a little pumice-stone texture to tannin. It's pretty and lively; a gentle but accessible red that delivers detail in dexterity and filigree of the wine. A super pleasing drink.
92 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)West Aussie Pinot has grown from a curiosity to a serious example of this great grape, which offers value, flavour and great drinkability. Denmark has established itself at the forefront of this movement. A garnet/pale crimson hue, this is quite a savoury style of Pinot and a most welcome one. We have notes of leather, undergrowth, mushrooms, red cherries and a touch of nutmeg oak. On the palate, we move more to the red cherry end of the spectrum. This is well crafted and neatly balanced, with good acidity and impressive length. Enjoy for the next six years.
