The fruit is sourced from Frankland River and Mt Barker, and it’s a cracker. The Frankland component adds vibrant energy to the blend, which offers ripe dark berries in a peppery, spicy package that’s clearly spent some time in toasty French oak. More proof that Shiraz does makes great reds in the south-west corner of W.A.
94 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)Western Australia just continues to throw up superb Shiraz and this is a cracker. Inky opaque purple hue, this is plush and balanced and generous with notes of roast meats, cigar boxes, black fruits, cloves, black olives and mulberries. There is good focus here and abundant tannins, which are soft and fine. With a lingering finish, this wine will surely provide much pleasure over the next eight to fifteen years, and improve further over this time.
