2022 Eisenstone McDonald Vineyard Marananga Shiraz SV904

Post Type: Product

The grapes were sourced from Roennfeldt Road in the sub-region of Marananga in the Barossa Valley. The original vineyard was rejuvenated by Gil McDonald in the late 1970s and 1980s. The grapes for the single vineyard wine are sourced partly from vines grafted to Shiraz from Crouchen in 1974, and also 1998 plantings of Penfolds SC clone. The colour is deep and intense. Maranaga wines are known for their forest berry fruit characters and this wine is no exception. The palate shows violets and floral characters that give an added dimension to the wine. Ample tannins to provide structure and longevity and will soften as they develop over time.

This wine exemplifies all of these characteristics.

2022 Eisenstone ‘Becker’ Vyd Koonunga Shiraz SV907

Post Type: Product

The grapes were sourced from Becker Vineyard – Mt Charles block in the Koonunga sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Four generations of the Becker Family owned the small vineyard until it was recently purchased by the Hoffmann family. The exact age of the vines in this block has been lost but understood to be between 70 and 80 years old. The volume produces is limited to the annual yield of this small parcel. Old vine wines from the Northern Barossa produce elegant but powerful wines. They are subtle but have a remarkable length to the pallet and this wine is no exception.
