Deep crimson/red, the nose has lifted black fruits, olivetapenade and lovely chocolate/mocha oak. The plate is mediumto full bodied with intense sweet blackberry, kirsch,nutmeg/cinnamon spice and roasted meats. The mid palate issmooth, voluptuous and creamy with balanced fine grainedtannins and vibrant fruit. With fantastic length of rich fruit, oakspices and nutty oak.
The Lagrein is indigenous to the valleys of Trentino. The wines tend to be deeply coloured and have intense berry-fruit flavours. They often feel a touch rustic (especially if not given time to settle prior to release, with or without the help of oak barrels), have a slight taste of iodine, or saltiness. This wine is deep ruby red, and shows attractive blackcurrant and wild raspberry aromas with touches of eucalyptus and liquorice. It’s reasonably full-bodied with well mannered tannins, and has dark chocolate and graphite characters along with light notes of spicy cedar.
Golden highlights adorn the beautiful pale yellow colour of this vintage. The nose is typical of Roussanne, with notes of honeysuckle and iris, and the white Grenache brings notes of fennel and white peach. Upon tasting, the richness and complexity of the aromas are immediately evident. The palate is full-bodied and supported by subtle barrel aging. It reveals notes of fresh walnuts with a finish of elegant aromas of honey and elderflower.

Aromas of lemon, peach, oat biscuit, toffee apple, toasted almonds, freshly ground spice and subtle nutty oak lead to a rich, weighty palate, balanced with a seamless acidity, ensuring longevity.
Grown on our Bendigo vineyard in Central Otago and matured in French oak barrels (1/3 new). 2018 is elegant and complex displaying red berry fruits, plum, spice and savoury characters. Fine tannins and lucious fruit flavours stay long on the palate.
