The Richardson Vineyard lies on the boundary between Greenock and Moppa and marks the shift from deep loamy soils to outcrops of quarts and fractured ironstone. The vineyard was dry grown for many years but is steadily being revitalised since Brett and Elaine took over the property. The grapes for this wine come from the “Bottom” block which has deeper soils and sits alongside a small creek bed that runs through the property. Deep ruby red. Charming dark cherry and mulberry aromas. Subtle earthy tones before opening out into a mid-weight style supported by supple, integrated tannins with excellent drinkability over the short to medium term.

The grapes were largely sourced from Becker Vineyard in the Koonunga sub-region of the Barossa Valley. Four generations of the Becker Family owned the small vineyard until it was recently purchased by the Hoffmann family. The wine is intense ruby red in colour and displays classic forest berry fruit aromas. The ripe berry fruits overlaying spicey oak characters which support and add structure to the wine.
