2025 Harewood Great Southern Riesling

Harewood Estate’s Great Southern Riesling is a blend of grapes grown in the winery’s recognised riesling growing sub-regions of Western Australia’s Great Southern GI: Mount Barker, Denmark, Porongurup and Frankland River. The wine shows a brilliant, exceptionally pale straw colour with youthful green tinges on release, and exhibits pungent spicy blossom aromas, and hints of stone fruits enhanced by an underlying citrus vibrancy. A seamless palate follows, with initial flavours of passionfruit and lemon barley leading to a richer, spicy mid-palate with hints of pear, and finishing with classic mouth-watering citrus.

Colour is deep ruby red with reflections of violet. Aromas of currants, wild strawberries and pomegranate. Palate has soft and velvety tannins that give structure for the red fruit flavours along with hints of oak.

Ripe plum in colour this Shiraz has aromas of raspberry, cherry and peppered tobacco complimented with some clove spice. These flavours follow on to the palate in an enticing way and are well balanced by silky tannins and vanilla spiced oak. Being medium bodied this wine can be enjoyed upon release, or benefit from short term cellaring.

The colour displays a distinctive purple hue only evident in PF wines. The nose has a big hit of ripe juicy blue fruits which are complimented with pepper, clove and vanilla spice. The aroma is pure and inviting with no sulphur added. Flavours in the mouth are very inviting, highlighted by blueberry muffin characters. The bright fruit characters give a perception of sweetness from the intense fruit flavour although the wine is dry. Enjoy while fresh and vibrant with friends or with savoury foods.
