This one has more depth of flavour and strength of conviction but again you can only buy it in an unbroken in an unbroken dozen, this time for $240 which is a tad more reasonable. There’s no image, I suspect the snapper tasted to many samples that day.
92 pts - Ken Gargett (Wine Pilot)This producer aims to provide flavoursome wines made under organic principles, which are also preservative free. They use wild fermentation and ensure that there is minimal influence imparted from the winemaking. This wine comes from the Wild Blueberry Vineyard, situated in the Central Ranges of New South Wales. Black with an opaque maroon rim, the nose reveals aromas of old leather, chocolate, fresh beetroot, aniseed, spices and coffee grinds. Appears to have a touch of blueberries as well, although that could be the power of suggestion. There is fine balance here, through to the satiny tannins. The wine of medium length with juicy acidity and sleek tannins, this is already providing attractive drinking and should continue to do so for at least the next four years.
