Central Ranges Shiraz here, which saw the parcels blended after a short period of oak maturation. Deep purple in colour, the nose exhibits notes of chocolate, raspberries, plums, blackberries, spices, coffee grinds and some delightful blueberries. There is a flick of oak in support. Supple and seductive, there is good length here, finishing with sleek tannins. Quite an elegant style, it should provide pleasure for at least the next six to eight years.
90 pts - Jeni Port (Wine Pilot)There is an ongoing spiciness to this cooler climate Shiraz that really resonates, peppery elements roaming across the palate and going long into the finish. Bright purple hues. Aromas lifted in red berries and black fruits, cassia bark, allspice, oregano and black pepper. A real charmer with easy drinking – and early drinking – in mind. Lively to taste with black cherries and black berries in the lead with attractive Aussie bush notes, dusty, earthy beets, star anise, liquorice and peppery spices. Wears a marked, medium bodied, cool climate stamp which, together with a smart price, is a big attraction.
