Sakura,’ the festival of cherry blossoms, is held in Cowra every year, celebrating the profound ties between their community and Japan – a connection rooted in history with its origins in the Prisoner of War Camp that housed Japanese P.O.W’s during WWII.
The Sakura label pays homage to this relationship and the iconic Japanese cherry blossom trees, which symbolise the delicate dance between life and death, impermanence and hope.
Just as the arrival of spring promises renewal and vitality, the blooming cherry blossoms serve as a poignant reminder of life’s fleeting nature, encouraging us to savour every moment. Carefully crafted from fruit grown in the Windowrie Homestead blocks, the Sakura range is the ideal companion to life’s celebratory moments.

Nose: Highly aromatic with distinctive notes of pepper and black olive, supported by classic Shiraz characters of dark berries, cedar, and clove spice.
Palate: Well-balanced and generous, with juicy dark berries, vanillin, dark chocolate, and clove spice from oak maturation. Smooth tannins give structure.
Pairings: Pairs beautifully with Vera Pizza Napoletana con funghi, chargrilled grass-fed sirloin, or Trippa alla Romana.

It's finely scented on the nose, showing Black Doris plum, rich floral, star anise, and cedar characters with a hint of dark cocoa. The palate offers succulent fruit intensity with a plump mouthfeel and silky flow, beautifully structured by layers of polished tannins, making it robust and persistent. At its best: now to 2032.
